This purple açaí seed necklace is handcrafted by artisans of the Pataxó in southern Bahia, Brazil. Each bead begins as a natural açaí seed, gathered, cleaned, and carefully dyed in deep violet tones that reflect the richness of the fruit itself.
The seeds have a lightweight and smooth texture. The purple color brings a subtle vibrancy making it easy to wear on its own or layered with other pieces.
Açaí seeds have long been used in Indigenous adornment as a way to honor what the land provides. Nothing is wasted; what remains after nourishment becomes something to carry, wear, and keep close.
Intentional in every step, this necklace holds a connection to the forest, to craft, and to the hands that shaped it.
Our founder, Kumba Shakur, traveled from Miami to southern Bahia, to curate the Tales from the Pataxó collection. Each piece was chosen for its symbolism and craftsmanship, offering something you can connect with and learn from. These adornments invite you into other ways of living and seeing the world.
At Tales of the Wind, we remain committed to honoring and preserving culture while supporting the communities and artisans behind each piece.
