Kumba Shakur

Kumba Shakur is a seasoned transformational coach and cultural curator, and currently the founder of Tales of the Wind.  She holds an MBA and has over 16 years of experience spanning global corporations and entrepreneurship. She is also a UMASS Center for mindfulness trainee with a deep passion for raising human consciousness and bringing people together through art and mindfulness. Kumba is a certified holistic health coach, from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Her career bridges both sides of the ecosystem, having worked inside large organizations, while also building and leading her own ventures. For over a decade, Kumba has created many programs tailored at expanding human consciousness.  She has explored multiple cultures across the world spanning from Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the middle East.  Her love and attunement to the earth have inspired her to create Tales of the Wind: a conscious lifestyle brand curating healing tools, cultural artifacts, and divine adornments from traditions around the world.  Kumba intentionally chooses these pieces to support human expansion and authentic self-expression.

Beyond retail, Kumba serves as a stylist, creative director, and visionary, bringing a distinct cultural and spiritual perspective to photoshoots, immersive experiences, and media projects.  Her signature immersive cultural experiences and retreats invite guests into curated spaces for genuine cultural connection and exchange.
