Our Pataxo feather earrings are authentic pieces, sourced in person from the Pataxó tribe, in southern Bahia, Brazil. They are made with feathers, seeds, wood, and beads. These materials hold cultural and spiritual meaning.
Feathers are connected to air, the element of breath, spirit, and movement. Wearing them can bring a sense of lightness and openness, supporting clarity, intention, and awareness.
Spiritually, feathers support a deeper connection to yourself, to nature, and to what cannot always be seen but is felt. They can be worn in ceremony or in everyday life for grounding and protection.
Their size is intentional. They reflect presence, confidence, and a willingness to stand fully in who you are. They also carry social meaning, representing heritage and community roles.
Each piece is unique, you won't find two of the same.
Our founder, Kumba Shakur, traveled from Miami to southern Bahia, to curate the Tales from the Pataxó collection. Each piece was chosen for its symbolism and craftsmanship, offering something you can connect with and learn from. These adornments invite you into other ways of living and seeing the world.
At Tales of the Wind, we remain committed to honoring and preserving culture while supporting the communities and artisans behind each piece.
