This feather earring set is handcrafted by artisans of the Pataxó tribe in southern Brazil. Each is made with natural feathers, seeds, and fibers gathered from their surroundings, shaped into a form that reflects both nature and tradition.
These earrings hold cultural meaning. They reflect a way of life that honors the land, community, and ancestral knowledge passed down through generations. Wearing them is a way of supporting the cultural preservation efforts of the Pataxo people who are dedicated activists who are fighting, to this day, to reclaim their land and preserve their cultural heritage.
Our founder, Kumba Shakur, traveled from Miami to southern Bahia, to curate the Tales from the Pataxó collection. Each piece was chosen for its symbolism and craftsmanship, offering something you can connect with and learn from. These adornments invite you into other ways of living and seeing the world.
At Tales of the Wind, we remain committed to honoring and preserving culture while supporting the communities and artisans behind each piece.
