These smoking pipes are handcrafted by artisans of the Pataxó tribe in southern Brazil, using natural wood and traditional carving techniques passed down through generations.
Each pipe is shaped by hand, honoring the natural form of the wood and the spirit of the material itself. The design is simple and intentional, made to feel grounded, functional, and connected to the earth.
In many Indigenous traditions, pipes are used in moments of prayer, reflection, and ceremony. They can symbolize communication, presence, and a respectful relationship with nature and spirit.
Every piece has slight variations in grain, shape, and tone, making each pipe one of a kind. It is a reflection of cultural knowledge, craftsmanship, and living tradition.
Our founder, Kumba Shakur, traveled from Miami to southern Bahia, to curate the Tales from the Pataxó collection. Each piece was chosen for its symbolism and craftsmanship, offering something you can connect with and learn from. These adornments invite you into other ways of living and seeing the world.
At Tales of the Wind, we remain committed to honoring and preserving culture while supporting the communities and artisans behind each piece.
